2018 Nebraska State Chamber Legislative Forums

2018 Nebraska State Chamber Legislative Forums
Tuesday, September 11th
8:00 am - 9:30 am
Bonfire Grill

____________________________________________________________________________
Beginning August 27, Nebraska Chamber of Commerce and Industry staff will travel across the state to present the State Chamber’s 2018 legislative forums.  The Nebraska Chamber will visit a total of 30 communities through late October.
For more than 30 years, the State Chamber has conducted the legislative forums in cooperation with local chambers of commerce.  The forums allow the Nebraska Chamber to gather input from business leaders on important topics, while sharing information about recent state legislation and developments impacting the business community.
This year’s State Chamber presentation will examine key business-related bills in the 2018 session of the Nebraska Legislature, as well as issues awaiting state lawmakers in 2019.
A significant portion of the forums will be dedicated to Blueprint Nebraska, a recently formed organization that is spearheading a statewide economic development initiative.  Blueprint Nebraska seeks to establish a comprehensive, long-term plan to stimulate economic growth, competitiveness and prosperity, while building on the state’s current strengths.  (Learn more by visiting Blueprint-Nebraska.org.)
All local chamber of commerce members, as well as members of the news media, are encouraged to attend.  Elected leaders are also invited.
Nebraska Chamber President Bryan Slone said: “Job creation and workforce issues, along with the economy, continue to be the most pressing issues facing most Nebraska communities.  These forums will give local leaders more insight into the factors affecting our state’s economic climate and growth potential, while affording the State Chamber and Blueprint Nebraska the opportunity to listen.”
The State Chamber is Nebraska’s largest statewide business association and has served as the voice of Nebraska’s business community since 1912.
